the perfect medium to help you achieve this. Over the past ten years the
internet radio has seen a massive growth, internet radio listeners grow by 10%

million people listen to internet radio from mobiles and laptops every month,
and I think this is the perfect time to start your own internet radio station.
How Internet Radios Work
Understanding the basics
of starting your internet radio station at home can help you keep track of how
your audio travels from point A to point B and eventually streaming to your
listeners.
There are 3 stages when
it comes to broadcasting online;
Stage One is the Source (you); so your computer makes
the audio which can be live voice or music then converts it to stream updated
package which are constantly send to a server.
Stage Two is the Server (provider); so when your stream
arrives at the server and it’s cleaned up and pushed to the appropriate
channels, many server providers like Radio.co automatically do this for you so
there is need for you to set and configure your own server.
Stage Three is your Listeners (everyone); wherever your
broadcast is online, if there is direct stream link to your website and radio
station, everybody can listen to your station. So it is quite straightforward,
your audio is pushed out to the internet and managed online by your server
provider and distributed to your listeners.
Choosing the Right Equipment
The question here is do
I need expensive Equipment? The answer is no, you can easily get by the basics,
that means you can just start with your computer with internet connect and microphone
and a good pair of headphone, some people opt for mixer (optional) too. When
you are just starting out, it is best to just get and running as quickly as
possible so use any equipment you have now and upgrade as you go along.
